Rockets break NBA record for most 3-pointers in 1 game
There's hot shooting from downtown, and then there's the Houston Rockets.
Austin Rivers' triple with 1:09 remaining in Sunday's game against the Phoenix Suns was the Rockets' 27th of the evening, setting a new NBA record for the most 3-pointers in one game.
Houston set the previous mark of 26 in December against the Washington Wizards, and the team tied it on Wednesday against the Sacramento Kings.
The Rockets shot 27-of-57 from beyond the arc in Sunday's 149-113 blowout victory over the Suns. Their 57 attempts were just four shy of the single-game NBA record Houston also set in December versus the New Orleans Pelicans.
Eric Gordon led the 3-point barrage, hitting eight from distance on 13 attempts.
