Anunoby upgraded to questionable for Game 1 vs. Warriors
Toronto Raptors forward OG Anunoby has been upgraded to questionable for Game 1 of the NBA Finals on Thursday against the Golden State Warriors, according to ESPN's Tim Bontemps.
Anunoby underwent surgery for a ruptured appendix prior to the start of the postseason and has yet to play during the Raptors' playoff run.
Raptors head coach Nick Nurse told reporters on Tuesday that Anunoby is "probably about 10 days away from playing." That estimation suggests the sophomore could suit up for Game 4 in Golden State.
Anunoby told reporters on Wednesday that his appendix ruptured before his emergency appendectomy in April, and an infection complicated the 21-year-old's recovery.
If he's able to make a quick turnaround and play in the series opener, he'll provide an additional defensive option off the bench for Toronto along with serviceable 3-point shooting.
Anunoby averaged seven points and 2.9 rebounds in 67 appearances during the regular season.
