Zion, Barrett hype sweeps summer league
Zion Williamson and RJ Barrett headlined one of the most highly anticipated freshmen classes in college basketball history, and the excitement has followed them to the NBA.
Friday's Las Vegas Summer League game between Williamson's New Orleans Pelicans and Barrett's New York Knicks has sold out the 17,500 seats available at the Thomas & Mack Center, according to Ben Golliver of The Washington Post.
General admission day passes are being resold for $80, and a record 1,000 media credentials have been issued, adds Golliver.
Seats in the lower bowl for the opening day are going for as much as $600 each, according to Tim Reynolds of The Associated Press.
The primetime matchup will mark the professional debuts of both players with their respective NBA clubs. Williamson and Barrett starred at Duke this past year and led the Blue Devils to an Elite Eight appearance.
