Anthony Davis is officially a member of the Los Angeles Lakers.

The club acquired the six-time All-Star from the New Orleans Pelicans in exchange for Lonzo Ball, Josh Hart, Brandon Ingram, the draft rights to De'Andre Hunter, two first-round picks, a first-round pick swap right, and cash, the team announced Saturday.

"Anthony Davis is arguably the most dominant all-around young player in today's NBA," general manager Rob Pelinka said in a statement. "Anthony represents everything we stand for, with his unwavering commitment to excellence as both a person and athlete. This is a historic moment for the Lakers franchise, and we couldn't be more proud to have him."

L.A. also sent Isaac Bonga, Jemerrio Jones, Moritz Wagner, and a future second-round draft pick to the Washington Wizards, who in return sent cash considerations to the Pelicans.

The Lakers were reportedly planning on delaying the transaction in hopes of enticing Kawhi Leonard with their best possible offer. But after the reigning Finals MVP apparently committed to the Los Angeles Clippers, the club acted swiftly, also making a number of free-agent acquisitions.

Davis averaged 25.9 points, 12 boards, and 2.4 blocks per contest across 56 appearances last season.

The 26-year-old reportedly intends on signing a new deal with the Lakers once he becomes eligible for free agency in 2020.
