Sacramento Kings star De'Aaron Fox left in the opening minutes of Thursday's 105-104 double-overtime loss to the Minnesota Timberwolves with back spasms, and later Marvin Bagley also departed with a foot issue.

Fox appeared to injure himself contesting a 3-point shot in the first quarter. The third-year guard headed to the locker room immediately, and the team ruled him out shortly afterward.

Fox seemed to be hitting his stride after missing 17 games this season due to a left ankle sprain.

The 2017 fifth overall pick is averaging 20 points, six assists, 4.8 boards, and 2.3 steals since returning to the lineup on Dec. 17. He scored a season-high 31 points during the Kings' previous game against the Houston Rockets on Monday.

Veteran guard Cory Joseph started during Fox's previous absence and will likely resume starting if the 22-year-old misses time again.

Bagley left the matchup in the third quarter with a left foot injury. He limped to the locker room, and the team promptly ruled him out.

Like Fox, the Duke product has been banged up for a majority of the 2019-20 campaign. Bagley missed 22 games after fracturing his right thumb in the Kings' season opener.

The big man had recorded 18 points on 6-of-10 shooting before exiting on Thursday, and he entered the game averaging 13 points and 6.9 boards since returning to the lineup on Dec. 11.
