Report: Heat, Nuggets interested in Holiday
The Miami Heat and Denver Nuggets are two of many teams that have expressed interest in New Orleans Pelicans star Jrue Holiday, league sources told ESPN's Zach Lowe.
Both teams might require the involvement of a third club to make any deal happen, notes Lowe.
Miami has few draft picks at its disposal but does boast a number of young assets including Kendrick Nunn and Duncan Robinson. The Heat are unlikely to include rookie guard Tyler Herro in any deal, reports Lowe.
Denver, meanwhile, could offer the Pelicans an unprotected future first-rounder along with Malik Beasley and Juancho Hernangomez. Both players are set to hit free agency this summer and turned down extension offers from the Nuggets in October following breakout 2018-19 seasons.
Holiday is averaging 19.7 points, 6.3 assists, 4.7 boards, and 1.7 steals across 41 appearances this season. He's one of the better two-way guards in the league and has earned back-to-back All-Defensive team nods.
The 29-year-old is under contract through 2020-21 but has a $26.2-million player option for the 2021-22 season.
