The Milwaukee Bucks have waived Dragan Bender, the team announced Monday.

The move clears the way for the team to sign forward Marvin Williams, league sources told ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski. Williams reached a buyout agreement with the Charlotte Hornets on Saturday.

If Williams is signed on Monday, he'll receive the veteran's prorated minimum salary of $956,000, which would incur a $604,000 cap hit for Milwaukee, according to ESPN's Bobby Marks.

The North Carolina product saw his role with Charlotte diminish this season, but he remains a viable 3-point threat. Overall, Williams is averaging 6.7 points and shooting 37.6% from deep across 41 appearances in 2019-20.

Bender has been a noted bust since being selected fourth overall in the 2016 NBA Draft. The 7-footer agreed to a two-year, partially guaranteed deal with the Bucks in the offseason. However, he played sparingly at the NBA level during his brief spell with the franchise.
