Report: Embiid to have shoulder sprain re-evaluated in 1 week
Philadelphia 76ers fans can breathe a sigh of relief.
All-Star center Joel Embiid will have his left shoulder sprain re-evaluated in one week after testing revealed no significant structural damage, The Athletic's Shams Charania reports.
Embiid didn't suit up for Thursday's 115-106 win over the New York Knicks and will be out of the lineup for at least another two contests. Philadelphia faces the Los Angeles Clippers on Sunday, then battles the Lakers in another clash at Staples Center on Tuesday.
The big man suffered the injury late in the first quarter of Wednesday's loss to the Cleveland Cavaliers.
The 76ers are already without the services of fellow All-Star Ben Simmons, who's reportedly set to have a nerve impingement in his lower back reassessed in approximately two weeks.
Embiid is averaging 23.3 points, 11.8 rebounds, and 1.3 blocks in 43 games this season.
