The Chinese Basketball Association (CBA) has delayed its restart until May, reports ESPN's Brian Windhorst.

The league was set to resume on April 15 after suspending play in January due to the coronavirus but reportedly did not receive the Chinese government's approval.

Tuesday's cancellation of the 2019-20 Korean Basketball League season and the postponements of Japan's B.League and the Tokyo Games are said to have influenced the government's decision, sources told Windhorst.

More than 20 American CBA players traveled to China and entered a two-week quarantine in preparation for a return to action but instead are now "stuck in limbo," Windhorst adds.

The CBA is one of the top professional basketball leagues outside of the NBA and features a handful of its former players, including Jeremy Lin and Lance Stephenson.
