Report: Spurs allowing assistant Hardy to interview for Knicks' HC job
The New York Knicks' shortlist of head coaching candidates continues to grow.
The San Antonio Spurs have granted assistant Will Hardy permission to interview for New York's bench boss gig, sources told ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski.
The 32-year-old joined the Spurs a decade ago as a basketball operations intern. Over the years, Hardy progressed through the ranks of the organization before joining Gregg Popovich's coaching staff.
Hardy, who's in his fourth season as an assistant, previously served as head coach of San Antonio's summer league team and worked alongside Popovich at last year's FIBA World Cup.
Tom Thibodeau is reportedly the front-runner for the head coaching job. However, the club is apparently interviewing a number of candidates, including Kenny Atkinson, interim bench boss Mike Miller, and former Spurs coach and player Ime Udoka.
