Report: Doubt exists over 'Delete 8' bubble, workouts
There is growing doubt among the eight NBA franchises not involved in the Orlando restart that there will be a second "bubble" for scrimmages or minicamps, sources told The Athletic's Shams Charania and Sam Amick.
"There's nothing happening," an unidentified general manager said after a Tuesday call between executives from the eight teams and league officials. "It's a shame. It's a huge detriment to these eight franchises that were left behind."
Nicknamed the "Delete Eight," the teams consist of the Atlanta Hawks, Charlotte Hornets, Chicago Bulls, Cleveland Cavaliers, Detroit Pistons, Golden State Warriors, Minnesota Timberwolves, and New York Knicks.
While some have questioned the point of eliminated teams gathering for workouts, others have posited that those franchises are at a competitive disadvantage if they don't end up convening until next season - the start date of which remains unknown.
