Sacramento Kings assistant general manager Peja Stojakovic stepped down from his role Saturday, the team announced.

The decision comes one day after his former Kings teammate Vlade Divac resigned from his position as general manager.

Stojakovic had occupied the post since May 2018 after serving in a number of other capacities since 2015. The retired NBA sharpshooter also served as general manager of Sacramento's G League affiliate team, the Stockton Kings.

"It has been a great joy and honor to work in the Kings front office for the past five years," Stojakovic said in a statement. "I want to thank the organization and especially the incredible fans around the world for the support over the years.

"Sacramento will always be home to me and I wish the franchise nothing but the very best."

The Kings drafted Stojakovic 14th overall in 1996. He spent eight seasons with the club, averaging 18.3 points and earning three All-Star selections.

Stojakovic is the franchise's all-time leader in 3-point field goals made and free-throw percentage. The 43-year-old is the most recent player to see his number retired by the club.
