Report: Mike Brown impresses in interview for Clippers' HC job

Golden State Warriors assistant Mike Brown made a strong impression during his interview with the Los Angeles Clippers and is an emerging candidate for their head coaching vacancy, Marc Stein of the New York Times reports.

The former NBA Coach of the Year has spent the past four campaigns on Steve Kerr's staff. He previously guided the Cleveland Cavaliers to a Finals appearance during a five-year run from 2005-10.

Brown reportedly interviewed for the New York Knicks' and Indiana Pacers' head coaching openings during the summer.

The Clippers and head coach Doc Rivers mutually parted ways in late September, less than two weeks after the team's 3-1 collapse against the Denver Nuggets in the second round of the playoffs.

Former Cavs bench boss Tyronn Lue, ESPN analyst Jeff Van Gundy, and Milwaukee Bucks assistant Darvin Ham are reportedly among other candidates for the Clippers gig.
