Dinwiddie: I view myself as the Nets' Draymond Green

Brooklyn Nets guard Spencer Dinwiddie produced a career season as a key figure in the team's offense this past campaign.

But with stars Kyrie Irving and Kevin Durant returning from injury, Dinwiddie is willing to take on different roles to help during the Nets' championship pursuit.

"When all of this was being formed (in free agency), I viewed myself - if we were going to take the Golden State model - as kind of the Draymond Green, the glue." Dinwiddie said Friday on ESPN's "The Jump." "Sometimes I get 10 boards, sometimes I get 10 assists, sometimes I score a little bit more. Whatever it is.

"Obviously, we have a super dynamic point guard and we also have the greatest scorer of all time," Dinwiddie added. "That's kind of how I always viewed myself when it was being talked about and put together. So I would be blessed to have that role this year and try to win a championship."

Green's all-around play has been vital during each of the Warriors' past three title runs. His switchability on defense, playmaking, and effectiveness as a screener have led to important contributions during Golden State's run of success.

Dinwiddie averaged 20.6 points, 6.8 assists, and 3.5 boards across 64 appearances last season. Brooklyn also scored 11.5 more points per 100 possessions with Dinwiddie on the floor, according to NBA.com.
