Morey in farewell message: Harden 'transformed my life'
Ex-Houston Rockets general manager Daryl Morey took a full-page ad out in the Houston Chronicle to pen an emotional farewell, which included a special message for James Harden.
"An entire page could be dedicated just to James. He not only transformed my life but he also revolutionized the game of basketball - and continues to do so - like almost no one had before," Morey wrote. "The game is played differently because of James, and on every playground in the world, the next generation of talent is studying and imitating his game.
"I can't believe I won't be able to have another strategy session with James."
Morey resigned from his position Thursday after spending the last 14 years in the Rockets' front office. He'll temporarily remain with the organization as an advisor and assist with the team's head coach search.
The club enjoyed tremendous regular-season success under Morey's watch, reaching the playoffs in all but three seasons during his tenure.
"I want to say thank you again to the city of Houston and to all Rockets fans," Morey wrote. "Your support has kept me energized and inspired. You have been the driving force to our success. I am honored to have been a part of your story."
