Warriors pay homage to Oakland with new jerseys
The Golden State Warriors are paying homage to Oakland with their new "City Edition" jerseys for the upcoming 2020-21 campaign.
Golden State's throwback-inspired threads feature the club's former home city across the chest and "We Believe" along the sides.
The phrase is synonymous with the Warriors' playoff run during the 2006-07 campaign when the eighth-seeded club upset the top-ranked Dallas Mavericks in the postseason's first round.
Oakland is and will always be a part of our team’s identity.

“Oakland Forever," presented by @Rakuten, is a nod to the We Believe era and its turning point in Oakland’s basketball history.

"Oakland is and forever will be part of this franchise's identity," said Warriors president and chief operating officer Rick Welts in a statement. "The Oakland Forever campaign, in partnership with Rakuten, will deepen our ties and impact in Oakland through a dedicated focus on community efforts, advancing educational equity, and providing safe access to health and wellness resources."
Golden State wore a similar navy blue jersey from 1997-2010. Since 1971, the Warriors played most of their home games at Oakland's Oracle Arena.
The franchise moved this past season to the newly-built Chase Center in San Francisco.
