The Los Angeles Lakers are wasting no time as they prepare for their title defense.
Los Angeles has expressed interest in signing veteran sharpshooter Wesley Matthews, sources told The New York Times' Marc Stein. Matthews would replace Danny Green, who's reportedly close to being dealt to the Oklahoma City Thunder.
Matthews averaged 7.4 points per game while shooting 36.4% from beyond the arc during the 2019-20 campaign with the Milwaukee Bucks. He's a career 38.1% shooter from distance, and the veteran would bolster a Lakers squad that tied for 23rd in the NBA with 11 made triples per contest last season.
