Report: Raptors, Celtics, Nuggets had exploratory talks for Harden

The Toronto Raptors, Boston Celtics, and Denver Nuggets had exploratory talks with the Houston Rockets regarding a trade for James Harden, Marc Stein of The New York Times reports.

However, it's unclear what either of the three teams offered in return.

The Philadelphia 76ers are reportedly the likeliest trade destination for the eight-time All-Star.

The familiarity between 76ers president of basketball operations Daryl Morey and new Rockets general manager Rafael Stone will offset any ill will concerning the former's sudden departure to Philadelphia, Stein adds.

Houston is reportedly seeking a young franchise cornerstone as well as multiple first-round draft picks and/or young talent on rookie contracts, though Morey has been reportedly adamant about keeping All-Star guard Ben Simmons.

As the Rockets continue to search the market, things appear to be worsening internally.

Harden reportedly had confrontations with multiple teammates, including an incident in which he threw a ball at rookie Jae'Sean Tate. During a press conference Monday, he refused to discuss his future with the Rockets.
