New York Knicks guard Alec Burks is sporting a walking boot following further tests on his injured left ankle, the team announced Wednesday.
The club said the 29-year-old's status will be re-evaluated in 7-10 days.
Burks suffered the injury during a victory over the Milwaukee Bucks on Dec. 27, and he hasn't suited up for Tom Thibodeau's squad since.
The ailment is a setback for a player enjoying a promising start to the season. In three games with the surprising Knicks, Burks was averaging 20.7 points - double his career average - while shooting 53.1% from the field.
The 10-year NBA veteran inked a one-year, $6-million deal with the Knicks in November.
