Report: NBA imposing stricter mask policies, penalties for failure to comply
The NBA on Friday will begin enforcing more stringent policies on the use of face masks during games and will penalize anyone who fails to abide by the measures, sources told The Athletic's Shams Charania.
Players, coaches, and staff members will also be required to wear KN95 masks or KF94 masks when necessary, ESPN's Tim Bontemps reports.
The reported changes are the latest in the NBA's attempt to limit the spread of the coronavirus. The Association recently introduced the placement of team security staff at half court before and after games to limit player interactions and ensure mask use.
The NBA postponed its 23rd contest of the season Monday, halting a scheduled game between the Denver Nuggets and Detroit Pistons just minutes before tipoff.
