The Oklahoma City Thunder traded Hamidou Diallo to the Detroit Pistons for Svi Mykhailiuk and a 2027 second-round pick, the Thunder announced Saturday.

The Pistons view Diallo, the 2019 Slam Dunk contest winner, as a vital part of their youth-oriented rebuild, Wojnarowski adds.

Diallo, who becomes a restricted free agent this summer, was enjoying a breakout campaign in his third season with the Thunder. He was averaging career bests in points (11.9) and rebounds (5.4) in 23.8 minutes per game for Mark Daigneault's club.

Pistons GM Troy Weaver was an executive with Oklahoma City when the Thunder used the 45th pick in the 2018 draft to select Diallo out of Kentucky.

Mykhailiuk, who's also on an expiring deal and like Diallo is earning $1.7 million this season, was averaging 6.9 points per game and 2.1 boards in a reserve capacity for the Pistons.

The second-round pick Oklahoma City is acquiring for Diallo comes via Houston, Wojnarowski notes.
