AD to miss at least 2 more weeks due to calf injury
Los Angeles Lakers star Anthony Davis will miss at least two more weeks as he continues to recover from a calf strain, the team announced Friday, according to ESPN's Dave McMenamin.
Davis hasn't played since Feb. 14 when he re-aggravated the injury. He previously missed two contests due to tendinosis near his right Achilles.
The former No. 1 overall pick is averaging 22.5 points, 8.4 boards, and 1.8 blocks over 23 appearances this season while anchoring one of the NBA's top defenses.
Entering Friday's game against the Indiana Pacers, the Lakers have gone 3-6 during Davis' absence.
Los Angeles is also without veteran center Marc Gasol, who missed his third consecutive game Friday due to the NBA's health and safety protocols. Damian Jones, who was signed to his second consecutive 10-day contract earlier this week, got his first start at the five against Indiana.
