The NBA has fined Brooklyn Nets superstar Kevin Durant $50,000 for using offensive and derogatory language on social media, the league announced Friday.
Actor Michael Rapaport published screenshots earlier this week of direct messages between him and Durant in which the All-Star forward made homophobic and misogynistic remarks.
Durant, 32, apologized Thursday for his choice of words.
Nets head coach Steve Nash said the team has handled the situation internally.
