Nets GM 'very confident' about Kyrie, Harden extensions
Brooklyn Nets general manager Sean Marks says the team is in discussions with Kyrie Irving and James Harden over long-term extensions.
The news comes after Kevin Durant penned a four-year, $198-million deal with the team on Sunday.
"I feel very confident by the first day of training camp, we'll be looking at those three signed, sealed, and delivered," Marks said during Wednesday's media availability, per SNYNets.
The Nets are scheduled to participate in a four-game preseason schedule that kicks off with a visit to the Los Angeles Lakers on Oct. 3.
Irving, 29, is eligible for a four-year, $187-million contract starting in the 2022-23 season; Harden, 31, is in line for a three-year, $161-million deal in 2023-24, according to ESPN insider Bobby Marks.
Marks and Co. have made several efforts to bolster Steve Nash's roster this summer on the heels of last season's Eastern Conference semifinals defeat to the Milwaukee Bucks.
Australian Olympic hero Patty Mills signed a two-year contract with the team, while veteran forward James Johnson and ex-Raptors wing DeAndre' Bembry settled on one-year agreements.
The Nets also re-signed key contributors Blake Griffin and Bruce Brown on one-year contracts.
