Former Orlando Magic bench boss Steve Clifford is joining the Brooklyn Nets as a coaching consultant, sources told ESPN's Malika Andrews.
Clifford will spend time with the Nets periodically during the 2021-22 campaign.
The 59-year-old was an assistant for the Los Angeles Lakers during Steve Nash's debut season with the club in 2012-13.
Clifford holds a 292-345 career mark over eight seasons as a head coach split between the Magic and Charlotte Hornets, including four playoff appearances. His teams registered five top-10 finishes in defensive efficiency during that span.
Brooklyn ranked 21st in average points allowed and 23rd in defensive efficiency last season.
