Nets selected to win title, KD tabbed as MVP in annual GM survey
The Brooklyn Nets were well-represented in the NBA's annual GM survey released Tuesday.
An overwhelming majority of executives chose the Nets to win the 2022 NBA Finals, while Kevin Durant was tabbed as the front-runner for the MVP award.
Brooklyn received 72% of the votes. The Los Angeles Lakers and defending champion Milwaukee Bucks netted 17% and 10%, respectively.
Meanwhile, Durant slightly edged out Luka Doncic for MVP, earning 37% of the vote compared to 33% for the Dallas Mavericks star. The Nets forward previously won the award in 2013-14 as a member of the Oklahoma City Thunder.
Durant and co-star James Harden were also named the best players at their respective position by the league's GMs.
The Miami Heat earned nearly half of the votes (47%) for the best overall offseason moves, with the acquisition of six-time All-Star Kyle Lowry predicted to have the biggest impact by over three-quarters of GMs.
The Heat's Erik Spoelstra was chosen as the NBA's best head coach for the second straight season.
