The Indiana Pacers don't plan on dealing newly acquired guard Buddy Hield ahead of Thursday's trade deadline despite some interest from other teams, sources told ESPN's Zach Lowe.
Indiana acquired Hield from the Sacramento Kings on Tuesday as part of a six-player blockbuster deal involving Domantas Sabonis and Tyrese Haliburton.
Hield has developed into one of the game's top outside threats since entering the NBA in 2016. The Oklahoma product is a career 40% shooter from deep and is on pace for his fourth consecutive top-five finish in 3-point field goals made.
Last February, Hield surpassed Stephen Curry as the fastest player in league history to make 1,000 triples, needing only 350 games to reach the milestone.
Indiana is tied for 20th in 3-pointers made (11.7 per game) and 25th in 3-point efficiency (33.3%).
Hield is averaging 14.4 points, four boards, and 1.9 assists over 55 appearances this season. He's in the second year of a four-year, $94-million contract.
