Jazz acquire Alexander-Walker, Hernangomez in 3-way deal
The Utah Jazz acquired Nickeil Alexander-Walker from the Portland Trail Blazers and Juancho Hernangomez from the San Antonio Spurs as part of a three-way deal, the Blazers announced Wednesday.
San Antonio receives guard Tomas Satoransky, while Portland acquires Joe Ingles and Elijah Hughes.
The Jazz also sent the Blazers a 2022 second-round pick via the Memphis Grizzlies and their own 2027 second-rounder to the Spurs.
Portland acquired Alexander-Walker on Tuesday as part of the CJ McCollum swap. The third-year guard began the 2021-22 season as the Pelicans' starting guard before shifting to a reserve role. He's averaging a career-high 12.8 points and 2.8 assists over 50 appearances this season.
Hernangomez has played sparingly between the Boston Celtics and San Antonio Spurs this campaign but provides Utah with an additional floor-spacing option.
The Jazz also save $11 million in luxury tax, according to ESPN's Bobby Marks.
New Orleans picked up Satoransky from the Chicago Bulls last offseason in the Lonzo Ball sign-and-trade deal. He was shipped Tuesday to the Blazers along with Alexander-Walker.
Ingles has been a mainstay on the Jazz for the past eight seasons. However, the Aussie recently sustained a season-ending ACL injury and is on an expiring deal.
Hughes hasn't seen much playing time over two years in the Association. New Orleans drafted Hughes 39th overall in 2020 and subsequently traded him to the Jazz.
