Cavs' Allen out indefinitely with fractured finger
Cleveland Cavaliers big man Jarrett Allen will be sidelined indefinitely after sustaining a fractured finger during Sunday's contest versus the Toronto Raptors, the Cavaliers announced.
The team added that Allen "will undergo additional evaluation and treatment."
It's unclear when the All-Star center suffered the injury. He was originally ruled out for the remainder of Sunday's matchup with a left quad contusion.
Cleveland acquired Allen from the Brooklyn Nets last season as part of the blockbuster James Harden deal. The Cavs inked him to a five-year, $100-million contract last August.
Allen is averaging career highs in points (16.1 per game) and rebounds (10.8) over 55 appearances this season. He's been an exceptional defender around the basket, holding opponents to just 48.6% shooting on attempts within six feet of the rim.
Cleveland is already without Caris LeVert and veteran guard Rajon Rondo.
