Report: Wiseman's return from season-long injury absence delayed
Golden State Warriors big man James Wiseman has hit another setback in his long-awaited return from injury. The second-year center has swelling in his right knee, according to The Athletic's Marcus Thompson and Anthony Slater.
Wiseman hasn't practiced with the Warriors for the past two days and won't play for their G-League affiliate Santa Cruz Warriors on Sunday.
With just 12 games left, Wiseman could end up missing the remainder of the regular season. However, there's no final decision at this time.
Wiseman had a second procedure on his knee in December after his initial meniscus surgery in April 2021.
The injury bug has hit Golden State hard recently, with Stephen Curry suffering a ligament sprain in his left foot that will keep him out for at least two weeks. Injuries have also sidelined Andre Iguodala and Gary Payton.
