The Oklahoma City Thunder are concerned that rookie Chet Holmgren has sustained ligament damage in his foot, sources told The Athletic's Shams Charania.

The No. 2 overall pick in this year's draft is seeking further opinions after initial exams revealed potential torn ligaments, adds Charania.

"Chet is in the process of undergoing evaluation, and when we have an update, we will communicate," a team spokesperson told Joe Mussatto of The Oklahoman Sports.

Holmgren, 20, appeared to suffer the injury during a brief appearance at the Crawsover Pro-Am event in Seattle this past weekend. The Gonzaga product was seen clutching his foot after defending LeBron James on a one-on-one transition sequence.

Holmgren subsequently limped up the court and exited the game.

The game was canceled in the second quarter due to condensation on the floor because of humidity within the venue.

Holmgren showed off his versatile skill set in Summer League play, averaging 14 points, 8.4 boards, 2.8 assists, 2.8 blocks, and 1.6 steals over five appearances. He shot 42.1% from deep and 47.9% from the field overall.

Holmgren, the consensus No. 1 recruit in the 2021 class, committed to Gonzaga and played a key role in another Sweet 16 appearance for Mark Few's program. The native of Minnesota racked up numerous accolades during his lone season in Spokane, including consensus All-American second-team honors.
