Hawks sign Hunter to 4-year extension worth $95M
Atlanta Hawks forward De'Andre Hunter agreed to a four-year contract extension worth $95 million, his agents told ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski.
Both parties had until 6 p.m. ET on Monday to agree on a rookie extension.
There are no options included in Hunter's new deal, a source told HoopsHype's Michael Scotto.
Trae Young, John Collins, and Hunter are now under contract with the club through at least 2024-25.
Hunter spent the past three seasons with the Hawks, averaging 13.2 points, 4.1 boards, and 1.6 assists over 139 appearances. Atlanta acquired him on draft night in 2019 from the New Orleans Pelicans.
Injuries have limited the 24-year-old throughout his time in the Association. He hasn't played more than 63 games in one season.
Hunter had a solid three-year collegiate career at Virginia, winning an NCAA championship and earning All-ACC first-team honors during the 2018-19 campaign. The year prior, he was the conference's Sixth Man of the Year.
