Pelicans' Alvarado to be re-evaluated in 3 weeks, Nance out at least 2 weeks
The New Orleans Pelicans provided an injury update on several key players.
Reserve guard Jose Alvarado will be re-evaluated in three weeks after being diagnosed with a stress reaction in his right tibia, the team announced Tuesday.
The Georgia Tech product is averaging nine points, three assists, and 1.1 steals in 21.5 minutes per game.
Meanwhile, veteran forward Larry Nance is set to miss at least two weeks due to a left ankle sprain suffered over the weekend against the New York Knicks.
Nance has also been a key contributor off the Pelicans' bench, registering 7.7 points and 5.9 boards per contest over 50 appearances.
Pelicans star Zion Williamson, who has been sidelined since Jan. 2, is progressing in his rehab from a right hamstring strain. However, there remains no timetable for his return.
New Orleans has fallen apart without the former No. 1 overall pick, posting a 7-18 record - including a 10-game losing streak - during his absence.
The Pelicans hold the West's final play-in tournament spot entering Tuesday's action.
