Report: T-Wolves' Reid out six weeks with broken wrist

Minnesota Timberwolves center Naz Reid suffered a fracture in the scaphoid bone in his left wrist, the team announced.

Reid will reportedly undergo surgery and is expected to miss six weeks due to the injury, sources told ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski.

The fourth-year big man sustained the injury in the fourth quarter of Wednesday's defeat to the Phoenix Suns but still played 23 minutes.

Reid was having his best season, averaging a career-high 11.5 points, 4.9 boards, and 1.1 assists over 68 appearances. His 65.3% 2-point field-goal percentage ranks eighth in the Association.

The LSU product is set to become an unrestricted free agent this summer.

Nathan Knight and Luka Garza are among the candidates who may assume Reid's backup center role.

Minnesota sits eighth in the West with a 39-38 record, just one game back of the Golden State Warriors for the No. 6 seed.
