Sacramento Kings bench boss Mike Brown is this season's NBA Coach of the Year, the league announced Wednesday on TNT.

Brown guided the Kings to a 48-34 record in his first campaign at the helm, helping the club snap an NBA-record 17-year playoff drought.

The 53-year-old took home all 100 of the first-place votes, becoming the first-ever unanimous winner for the award. He edged out finalists Mark Daigneault of the Oklahoma City Thunder and Joe Mazzulla of the Boston Celtics.

Brown is the third bench boss in franchise history to win the honor. The Ohio native also took home the award in 2009 when he led the Cleveland Cavaliers to an NBA-best 66-16 record.

Brown's peers voted him NBCA Coach of the Year last week.

Sacramento captured its first Pacific Division title in two decades. The Kings won 18 more games than last season and registered the best road record in the West.

The club's high-octane offense was a major part of its change in fortunes. Sacramento established a new NBA record for offensive efficiency, tallying 118.6 points per 100 possessions. The 23-place improvement is the largest single-season turnaround in league history. The Kings also ranked third in assists (27.3 per game) and fifth in triples made (13.8).
