Report: Bucks interviewing Mark Jackson for head coaching job
The Milwaukee Bucks are interviewing former Golden State Warriors coach and current ESPN commentator Mark Jackson for their open head coaching job, sources told The Athletic's Shams Charania.
Jackson spent three seasons as Warriors coach, recording a .526 winning percentage and leading Golden State to the playoffs in two straight campaigns.
The former New York Knicks and Indiana Pacers point guard was a finalist for the Sacramento Kings' head coaching job last season before the franchise settled on Mike Brown, Charania adds. Jackson also reportedly interviewed with the Los Angeles Lakers last year.
Jackson apologized earlier this week for leaving Denver Nuggets center Nikola Jokic off his MVP ballot. Jokic finished second behind Philadelphia 76ers center Joel Embiid, totaling 674 votes compared to Embiid's 915.
The Bucks' list for coaching interviews includes Warriors associate head coach Kenny Atkinson, Milwaukee associate head coach Charles Lee, former Charlotte Hornets bench boss James Borrego, Portland Trail Blazers assistant Scott Brooks, and Toronto Raptors assistant Adrian Griffin.
Milwaukee dismissed Mike Budenholzer after five seasons following the Bucks' loss to the Miami Heat in the first round of the playoffs.
