Report: Lakers re-sign Reaves to 4-year, $56M contract
The Los Angeles Lakers re-signed Austin Reaves to a four-year, $56-million early Bird maximum contract, sources told The Athletic's Shams Charania.
His new deal includes a player option for the final year, a 15% trade kicker, and the maximum advance allowable, adds Charania.
Reaves had a breakout 2022-23 campaign, averaging 13 points, 3.4 assists, and three boards over 64 appearances. His 68.7% true-shooting percentage was the fourth-best mark in the Association.
Reaves carried over his strong play into the postseason, recording 16.9 points per contest and shooting 44.3% from deep during the Lakers' run to the West final.
The Oklahoma product signed a two-way contract with the Lakers in 2021 after going undrafted. He was an All-Big 12 first-team selection during his final year with the Sooners.
Los Angeles is having a productive start to free agency, re-signing Rui Hachimura and D'Angelo Russell while also adding Gabe Vincent and Taurean Prince.
