The San Antonio Spurs are waiving Cameron Payne, sources told ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski.
San Antonio acquired the veteran guard, a 2025 second-round pick, and cash considerations from the Phoenix Suns earlier this summer in exchange for a protected 2024 second-round pick.
Payne spent the past four seasons with the Suns, serving as a key member of the club's reserve unit. He started six playoff contests during his tenure in Phoenix, including a 31-point outburst versus the Denver Nuggets in Game 6 of last season's Western Conference semifinals.
Payne averaged 10.3 points, 4.5 assists, and 2.2 boards across 48 appearances during the 2022-23 campaign.
