Rockets' Whitmore out 3 weeks due to knee sprain
Houston Rockets rookie Cam Whitmore will miss approximately three weeks due to a knee sprain, head coach Ime Udoka told reporters Tuesday, per Jonathan Feigen of The Houston Chronicle.
It's unclear when Whitmore sustained the injury. He had 10 points and four boards in 19 minutes in his last appearance Sunday against the Sacramento Kings.
Reggie Bullock and Jae'Sean Tate could see more minutes during Whitmore's absence.
Whitmore has been a bright spot off the bench in his first season, averaging 12.1 points and shooting 36.1% from deep over 38 games.
The Villanova product was projected to be a top-five selection in last year's draft but reportedly fell due to medical concerns and a poor showing in pre-draft workouts.
Houston took Whitmore with the No. 20 overall selection.
