The Detroit Pistons are acquiring Minnesota Timberwolves guard Wendell Moore Jr., along with the 37th pick in the 2024 NBA Draft, in return for selection No. 53, sources told The Athletic's Shams Charania and Jon Krawczynski.

Moore has struggled to make an impact since being drafted with the 26th pick in 2022, appearing in only 54 games in Minnesota. He only averaged 1.1 points and 0.6 rebounds as a member of the Timberwolves organization.

The Duke alum has also shot just 44% from the field in the NBA and only 39.2% in the G League.

Moore still has two years and approximately $7 million remaining on his rookie contract.

Minnesota drafted two guards in Round 1 on Wednesday, moving up to acquire Kentucky scorer Rob Dillingham at No. 8 before selecting former Illinois guard Terrence Shannon Jr. with the 27th pick.

Dillingham and Shannon will join a Timberwolves backcourt that already consists of Anthony Edwards, Nickeil Alexander-Walker, and Mike Conley.
