Lonzo Ball is feeling optimistic heading into the 2024-25 campaign.

The Chicago Bulls guard, who hasn't played in an NBA game since January 2022 due to ongoing knee issues, told TMZ Sports that his recovery is "going well," and he expects to make his return this season.

"To be back on the court, man," Ball replied when asked what fans can expect from him. "That's all I want to do."

Ball first tore the meniscus in his left knee in 2018 as a member of the Los Angeles Lakers and has undergone three surgeries since. He revealed in May that he underwent a rare procedure last year that required a meniscus transplant from a donor, a bone graft, and new cartilage to be inserted into his knee.

The 26-year-old has only played in 35 games since being traded to the Bulls in 2021 and is entering the final season of a four-year, $80-million contract.

The Bulls open the regular season Oct. 23 on the road against Ball's previous team, the New Orleans Pelicans.
