Dallas Mavericks guard Dante Exum underwent a procedure to repair a right wrist injury that he suffered during training camp, the team announced Wednesday.

Exum is expected to be out the next three months, reports ESPN's Shams Charania.

The Australian wasn't available for the Mavericks' 121-116 preseason loss to the Memphis Grizzlies on Monday.

Exum, 29, is in the final season of a two-year, $6.1-million deal he inked with the Mavericks in the 2023 offseason. He'd spent the previous two years playing for Barcelona in Spain and Partizan Belgrade in Serbia.

Exum averaged 7.8 points, 2.9 assists, and 2.7 rebounds in 55 games with Dallas last season. The former lottery pick played in all but one of the Mavericks' 21 postseason contests, averaging two points while shooting 44.3% from the field and 35% from three.

Dallas will play its next preseason match Thursday against the Utah Jazz and begin the 2024-25 regular season Oct. 24 against the San Antonio Spurs.
