Former first-round draft pick Kai Jones signed a two-way deal with the Los Angeles Clippers, the team announced Saturday.
Jones originally joined the Clippers last April and was re-signed to an Exhibit 10 contract during the offseason. He made five preseason appearances for the club, averaging eight points, five boards, 2.4 blocks, and 1.4 steals.
Jones provides some depth at the five behind Ivica Zubac and Mo Bamba.
The Charlotte Hornets selected Jones with the No. 19 overall pick in the 2021 draft. The Texas product played sparingly over two seasons with the team, registering 2.7 points and two boards per contest across 67 appearances.
Charlotte released Jones in October 2023, just two days after he publicly requested a trade.
