LeBron: Important AD is the 'main focal point' every night

LeBron James said it's paramount to prioritize Anthony Davis in the Los Angeles Lakers' offense.

"It's very important that he's the main focal point for us every single night," James told reporters Friday after the Lakers' 123-116 win over the Phoenix Suns, including ESPN's Dave McMenamin.

"We know what he's going to do defensively, but offensively we have to find him in multiple places on the floor throughout the whole game. And we've done that through two games."

Lakers head coach JJ Redick echoed a similar sentiment.

"There's an intentionality to have (Davis) involved as much as possible," Redick said. "We recognize what type of player he is and that he can create mismatches. ... There's a comfort level and a confidence level that he has that if the game starts getting wacky, he knows the ball is going to come back to him. ... The ball is going to find him."

Davis tallied 35 points on 11-of-18 shooting to help Los Angeles improve to 2-0 for the first time since the 2010-11 campaign. The big man posted 36 points, 16 boards, four assists, and three blocks in the Lakers' season-opening victory over the Minnesota Timberwolves.

Davis joined Elgin Baylor and Jerry West as the only players in franchise history to begin a campaign with back-to-back 35-point games, per McMenamin.

Los Angeles is back in action Saturday against the Sacramento Kings.
