Report: George expected to make Sixers debut vs. Suns
Barring any setbacks in his recovery from a knee injury, All-Star forward Paul George is expected to make his Philadelphia 76ers debut Monday night against the Phoenix Suns, according to ESPN's Shams Charania.
George said Monday that there's a 90-95% chance that he'll play, according to Keith Pompey of the Philadelphia Inquirer.
George missed the season's first five games while recovering from a bone bruise in his left knee that he sustained in an exhibition game against the Atlanta Hawks on Oct. 14. The 34-year-old is listed as questionable on the Sixers' injury report.
All-Star Joel Embiid also has yet to play for Philadelphia this campaign as he deals with lingering knee issues.
George averaged 22.6 points, 3.5 assists, and 5.2 rebounds last season as a member of the Los Angeles Clippers.
The nine-time All-Star inked a four-year, $212-million deal with Philadelphia over the summer.
The Sixers are off to a rocky start this season, winning just one of their opening five games.
After playing the Suns on Monday, the Sixers will continue their West Coast road trip by visiting the Clippers on Wednesday and the Los Angeles Lakers on Friday.
