Luka Doncic will miss at least one month after sustaining a calf strain in the Dallas Mavericks' Christmas Day clash against the Minnesota Timberwolves, sources told ESPN's Shams Charania.

Doncic exited Wednesday's West final rematch in the second quarter after getting hurt on a noncontact play. He was promptly ruled out for the remainder of the contest and later left the arena in crutches.

Dallas had reportedly been bracing for its superstar to miss an extended period ahead of his MRI on Thursday.

Doncic missed five games earlier this season with a heel contusion. The Mavericks went 4-1 in that span.

The five-time All-Star is averaging 28.1 points, 8.3 boards, 7.8 assists, and two steals across 22 appearances this campaign. His impending absence will keep him from playing enough games to qualify for the MVP award and the All-NBA team.
