76ers' McCain to miss rest of season
Philadelphia 76ers rookie Jared McCain will miss the remainder of the campaign after undergoing surgery on his left knee last month, the team announced Thursday, per Kyle Neubeck of PHLY Sports.
McCain was initially ruled out indefinitely after suffering a torn meniscus Dec. 13 against the Indiana Pacers.
Veteran guards Eric Gordon and Reggie Jackson have seen increased minutes off the bench during McCain's absence.
McCain was arguably the Rookie of the Year front-runner at the time of his injury.
The Duke product averaged 15.3 points, 2.6 assists, and 2.4 boards across 23 appearances. He shot 38.3% from deep and 46% from the field overall.
The 76ers selected McCain with the No. 16 overall pick in last year's draft.
Philadelphia sits 11th in the East with a 15-20 record.
