Embiid out at least 7-10 days due to increased knee swelling
The Philadelphia 76ers announced Friday that star Joel Embiid will be sidelined at least 7-to-10 days after an increase in swelling in his left knee following a workout Thursday, according to Keith Pompey of The Philadelphia Inquirer.
The ailment will keep him out of the 76ers' upcoming three-game road trip.
Embiid has missed Philadelphia's last six games due to a left foot sprain. However, the club says the injury has healed, per The Athletic's Mike Vorkunov.
A series of injuries have limited Embiid to only 13 appearances this season. He's averaging 24.4 points, 7.9 boards, 3.8 assists, and one block.
Philadelphia has started Andre Drummond and Guerschon Yabusele at the five in Embiid's absence.
The 76ers sit 11th in the East with a 15-24 record. Their first-round pick in this year's draft is top-6 protected.
