Anthony Davis took to social media Monday to thank the Los Angeles Lakers and their fan base for the past six seasons with the club.

The 31-year-old was shockingly traded Saturday to the Dallas Mavericks in a multi-team blockbuster deal that saw Luka Doncic head to Los Angeles.

"I am grateful to the city where my first ring came from, grew my family and friendships, and I will always have a home here," Davis wrote. "My family and I thank everyone who made this place home and we are still thinking of those that lost their homes in the fires."

Los Angeles acquired Davis from the New Orleans Pelicans in July 2019. He made an instant impact with the Lakers, helping them win an NBA championship in his first season.

Davis battled injuries for the remainder of his tenure in L.A., but he remained highly productive when available. The former first overall pick tallied 24.8 points, 11 boards, 3.2 assists, 2.2 blocks, and 1.2 steals per contest across 312 appearances with the purple and gold.

Davis also earned three All-Star selections, two All-NBA nods, and was named to the All-NBA Defensive first team twice.

"L.A. will always have a special place in my heart," Davis wrote. "Every great story has an exciting next chapter … Dallas - Here we come!"
