Heat's Jovic out at least 4 weeks with fractured hand
Miami Heat forward Nikola Jovic will miss at least four weeks after suffering a fracture in the second metacarpal in his right hand, the team announced Tuesday.
Jovic sustained the injury during Sunday's contest against the Milwaukee Bucks. He had seven points and two boards in 15 minutes before missing the entire second half.
Jovic was already sidelined for Monday's loss to the Atlanta Hawks.
"I feel for Niko," Heat head coach Erik Spoelstra told reporters Sunday, according to Anthony Chiang of the Miami Herald. "I know how much he has put into this."
Miami selected Jovic with the No. 27 pick in 2022. He's averaging a career-high 10.7 points, 3.9 boards, and 2.8 assists across 46 appearances this season.
Veteran forward Kyle Anderson saw a significant uptick in minutes during Sunday's tilt.
The Heat sit ninth in the East with a 26-30 record entering Tuesday's play.
